| Description |
AMBER was a European research and innovation project focused on improving river connectivity and restoring fragmented river ecosystems through adaptive management of artificial barriers. The project brought together universities, hydropower companies, river authorities, NGOs and the European Commission's Joint Research Centre. Its activities included developing tools and models for river restoration, assessing stream connectivity, promoting biodiversity and supporting citizen-science-based monitoring. The AMBER project, Barrier Atlas and Citizen Science portal are currently managed by the Blue Rivers Foundation. |
