The Italian Space Agency (ASI), established in 1988, is a national public body with the task of preparing and implementing Italian space policy in accordance with government guidelines.
The Agency has established itself as one of the world's most important players on the scene of space science, satellite technologies, and the development of means to reach and explore the cosmos. Today, the ASI plays a leading role both in Europe and worldwide. In fact, it has a close and continuous working relationship with NASA, which has led it to participate in many of the most interesting scientific missions of recent years. One of the most fascinating projects has been the construction and operation of the International Space Station. |
