The Italian Meteorological Society Onlus (non-profit organization of Social Utility) is a scientific association non-profit. It welcomes about 1500 professionals, scholars, amateurs and users of meteorology. It is the largest Italian association in the sector. Work throughout the national territory and maintains close ties with the Subalpine Meteorological Society which is a founding member in the western Alpine territory, including France and Switzerland. SMI promotes and encourages the development and knowledge of the sciences of the atmosphere in Italy. It belongs to UniMet (Union of Meteorology Italiana) and the European Meteorological Society. |
