Description |
The European Image Mosaic (EIM) provides a seamless pan-European ortho-rectified mosaic processed from individual satellite image scenes. It has a three years update cycle and in HR is available for the 2006, 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2018 reference years. In very high resolution (VHR) European image mosaic is available only for the 2012 and 2018 reference years and are obtained from various missions and have a spatial resolution from 1 m to maximum 4 m. This visual representation serves as a powerful tool for developing a deeper understanding of Europe’s geography and landscape. Moreover, the EIM forms the foundation for many other CLMS products. Other application areas include environmental monitoring, urban planning, policymaking and implementation, and scientific research. The EIM is currently on a three-year update cycle. It covers the entire EEA38 (32 EIONET member countries and 6 cooperating countries) and the United Kingdom. |
