Description	Understanding the dynamics of human settlements is a prerequisite for sustainable development and environmental management. Urbanisation is a major change taking place in both developed and developing countries. This growth is attributed to population increase and migration of people from rural areas to urban areas in search of employment and better living conditions. The scope of the products is to provide information about human settlements structures and particularly the informal settlements areas, using very high resolution imagery and ancillary data. This product may be used in preparedness and recovery phase of the disaster management cycle. The product belongs to the Risk and Recovery component, Standard category.
