Description The product aims to provide an impression of the population night activities. This phenomenon is observed using satellite sensors that operate during night-time. The population data and human settlements information are coupled to derive the human footprint of cities before during and after a crisis.The affected population suffers from a drop in economic activities and electric power availability. The product may also reflect the socioeconomic development, the city re-functionality after a crisis event and the inequality of regional development. It may be used in preparedness and recovery phase of the disaster management cycle. The product belongs to the Risk and Recovery component, Standard category.
