Name	Corine Land Cover
Acronym	CLC
Description	The CORINE Land Cover (CLC) inventory was initiated in 1985 (reference year 1990). Updates have been produced in 2000, 2006, 2012 and 2018. It consists of an inventory of land cover in 44 classes. The 2012 version of CLC was the first one embedding the CLC time series in the Copernicus programme, thus ensuring sustainable funding for the future. The 2018 version also funded by Copernicus was produced in less than 1 year and is based on Sentinel-2 data with Landsat-8 for gap filling.
