| Description |
The GHSL-Arctic dataset provides a set of multi-resolution gridded geospatial products describing the spatial distribution and temporal evolution of human settlements in the Arctic region. It includes information on built-up surface, non-residential built-up surface, building volume, building height, resident population and Degree of Urbanisation. Most products cover the period from 1975 to 2030 at 5-year intervals, with spatial resolutions of 100 m and 1 km, while building height products refer to 2018 at 100 m resolution. The datasets use the North Pole Lambert Azimuthal Equal Area projection (EPSG:3575). The complete information about the methodology and products can be found in the GHSL Arctic Edition 2025 report (data.europa.eu/doi/10.2760/1890944). |
