| Description |
The GHS-WUP-COUNTRY-STATS dataset provides global summary statistics on land area, population and built-up surface for each country, classified according to the Degree of Urbanisation (DEGURBA) methodology. It covers the period from 1950 to 2100 at 5-year intervals and follows the United Nations Standard Country or Area Codes for Statistical Use. The dataset enables comparisons of urban, rural and intermediate settlement categories across countries and over time.
