GHS - World Urbanization Prospects – Multitemporal Urban Centres |
| Description |
The GHS-WUP-MTUC dataset provides global information on urban centres and their evolution over time, covering the period from 1950 to 2100. It includes vector polygon boundaries and point centroids of individual urban centres, together with statistical information on population, land area and built-up surface. The statistics are derived from the GHS-WUP-POP and GHS-WUP-BUILT-S datasets, while urban centres are identified and linked across different time periods using the Degree of Urbanisation methodology (GHS-WUP-DEGURBA). The dataset is available at a spatial resolution of 1 km.
