| Description |
The GHS-WUP-BUILT-S spatial raster dataset represents the global distribution of total built-up surface, expressed in square kilometres per grid cell, covering the period from 1975 to 2100 at 5-year intervals. Historical estimates (1975–2020) are derived from the GHS-BUILT-S R2023 product, while projections for 2025–2100 are generated using the CRISP model, assuming a stable non-residential built-up surface and modelling the growth of the residential component. The dataset is available at spatial resolutions of 1 km and 30 arc-seconds.
