| Description |
The GHS-WUP-POP spatial raster dataset represents the global distribution of resident population, expressed as the number of inhabitants per grid cell, covering the period from 1975 to 2100 at 5-year intervals. Historical population estimates (1975–2020) are derived from harmonised census data and UN World Urbanization Prospects, while projections for 2025–2100 are generated using the CRISP model and UN World Population Prospects 2024. The dataset is available at spatial resolutions of 1 km and 30 arc-seconds.
