UID 913
Name Digital Terrain Model (Sweden) - 1 m
Description The Terrain Model Download, grid 1+ (Markhöjdmodell Nedladdning, grid 1+) is the official digital terrain model of Sweden, produced and managed by the National Land Survey of Sweden (Lantmäteriet). It is one of the most precise elevation datasets available nationwide, derived from high-density airborne LiDAR surveys with a spatial resolution of 1 meter. The model represents the topographic surface of bare ground, that is, the actual surface area free of buildings, vegetation, or other surface structures. Each grid cell, measuring 1 × 1 m, contains an elevation value calculated based on measurements collected during laser remote sensing (fly-laser scanning) campaigns conducted by Lantmäteriet across the entire Swedish territory. The data were acquired through systematic coverage of the country, as part of the national elevation update program begun in 2009, with the aim of creating a uniform, high-quality model for the whole of Sweden. Full coverage was achieved progressively over the next decade.
