The Hydrogeologic Entities - Mayotte dataset (Entités Hydrogéologiques – Mayotte) represents the "hydrogeological entities" of the island of Mayotte: polygons that delimit geological and aquifer (or non-aquifer) systems characterized by specific hydrogeological properties, such as porosity, permeability, groundwater status, geological landform type, hierarchical classification (levels NV1, NV2, NV3) of the hydrogeological structure, etc.
The entities are defined following the methodology of the French national reference BDLISA (Base de Données des Limites des Systèmes Aquifères), also used for other overseas territories.
This dataset is useful for groundwater management, water resource protection, aquifer identification, and land-use planning in complex geological contexts such as a volcanic island. It can be integrated into hydrogeological models, environmental planning, salt intrusion risk assessments, etc. |
