Data details

UID 899
Name BD Ortho - French aerial ortho-imagery dataset
Note BD Ortho® is a database of georeferenced digital aerial orthophotographs of France, i.e., geometrically corrected (orthorectified) aerial images to eliminate distortions due to perspective and relief. The dataset is produced and managed by the National Institute of Geographical and Forestry Information (IGN-France) and is one of the core databases of the RGE® (Grande Échelle) mapping program. Each orthophoto represents the French territory as a photograph in cartographic projection, with real planimetric coordinates (in Lambert-93 or UTM projection). It is the reference product for territorial, urban planning, agricultural, environmental, cadastral, and monitoring analyses.
