Name CLMS - Fractional Snow Cover (FSC)
Note The Fractional Snow Cover (FSC) product is generated in NRT for the entire EEA38+UK based on optical satellite data from the S2 constellation (revisit (5 days). The product provides the fraction of the surface covered by snow at the top of canopy and on ground per pixel as a percentage (0% –100%) with a spatial resolution of 20 m x 20 m and the temporal extent from 2016 to present.

Snow Coverage Fully Snow-cover can compromise the quality of InSAR results by increasing the noise of time series. The FSC product for the Northern Hemisphere provides needed information about the extent of seasonal and permanent snow cover in higher latitudes and mountaneous regions. This helps to filter out images with extensive snow cover allowing for a reliable InSAR coverage with reduced noise for production. Sept. 6, 2024, 9:57 a.m. Sept. 6, 2024, 9:57 a.m.
