Global 30 Arc-Second Elevation (GTOPO30) is a global Digital Elevation Model (DEM) that was completed in late 1996, it has a resolution of 1km. Its Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED) and United States Geological Survey (USGS) DEMs, which cover 56.7% of the total dataset, have a vertical accuracy of +/- 30 meters linear error at the 90 percent confidence level (LE90) with a Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 18 m. Both the coarse resolution and low accuracy do not fulfill the requirements of the EU-GMS. |
